In 2020 and 2021, Headteacher Dr Taylor took part in the Seven Hills Race to raise money for the School's Seven Hills Project. We are happy to announce that Dr Taylor has decided to take on the challenge once again, along with around five hundred other runners, on Sunday 19th June 2022.
Every year since 1980, on a Sunday in June, hundreds of daring individuals take part in one of the most unusual running events in Scotland, The Seven Hills of Edinburgh — a combination of road-running, cross-country, hill-running, and urban orienteering...14.3 miles in length and with 2200 feet of ascent/descent.
The course includes each of Edinburgh's seven famous hills:
- Calton Hill
- The Castle (esplanade)
- Costorphine Hill
- Craiglockhart Hill (East)
- Braid Hill
- Blackford Hill
- Arthur's Seat
In 2020 Dr Taylor's time was just 2 hours and 13 minutes, while in 2021 he didn't quite achieve the same race time but managed to complete the race – preparations were restricted due to an injury. This year Dr Taylor is injury free and feeling fit, let's see if he can match his time from 2020!
