INSTRUMENTAL TASTER DAY: S3 to S6 Extension

Join our pupils and take part in a fun and interactive day of music, open to young musicians aged between S2 and S6, inclusive.  

Please note to take part, all applicants must be at a minimum of ABRSM Grade 5 or equivalent to take part in the activities on offer.  

Participants are welcome who play the following instruments: Orchestral Instruments/ Piano/ Organ/ Accordion and Harpsichord.  

Our taster days are designed to give young people with a passion and talent for music an insight into what it is like to be a pupil at St Marys Music School. 

We would like to invite the applicants into School to take part in Musical Activities with our current students on the afternoon of Friday 24 November. We hope that the afternoon will give you an even better insight into some of the music activities here at school.  During the afternoon, we propose the following activities: 

1.30 pm                Registration and meeting of buddy

1.45pm                 Orchestra Rehearsal

2.30pm                 Performance Class

3.15pm                 Registration and walk to Cathedral

3.30 pm                Chancel Concert in St Mary’s Cathedral (Parents are most welcome to join us)

4.30 pm                Parents collect from the Cathedral.

You would be most welcome to join in with the performance class, or can sit back and watch what happens with our current pupils. If you wish to take part, please contact us in advance (admissions@smms.uk) to forward any piano parts that would be needed.

Places are FREE, but limited. If your child has previously attended an Instrumental Taster Day, their name will be put onto a waiting list.
